Presentation guidelines

1. Every abstract selected for the meeting will be delivered as an oral presentation.

2. Each contributory presentation will be in the form of lightning talks.

3. We have four sessions on lightning talks in the two days of the meeting. Please check the schedule version 1 here.

4. Each lightning talk will be of 5-minute duration.

5. Each session will end with a discussion chaired by one of our invited speakers.

6. To fit within the 5-minute timeframe, we suggest the presenters focus more on the major findings and takeaways from the study while discussing briefly the main objective and methodology of the study.

7. Please use a limited number of slides. We would require your presentation 1-day before the meeting to conduct the sessions efficiently. You can share your presentation with us at invasionbiology.bhopal@apu.edu.in.

8. Minimise texts in your slides, present your key idea early in the talk and focus on the essentials only.

A good lightning talk is insightful, inspiring, thought-provoking, useful, controversial, or enlightening.

Accommodation

1. The accommodation list for the participants is available here.

2. All accommodations are on a double-sharing basis. The accommodations are available from 20-23 February, 2025.

3. Please check your travel plans in the list. Your accommodation is booked according to the travel plan you shared with us.

4. The male participants are accommodated in the off-campus university hostel.

5. For any assistance at the hostel, you can call the hostel warden at 8517011916.

6. A shuttle bus will leave from the hostel at 8 am for the university. Please make sure to avail this facility. If you miss this shuttle, you have to arrange your own transportation.

7. The female participants are staying inside the campus. For location details and directions, you can refer to our university webpage. For any assistance, please call our student volunteer Khushi Thakur at 9353654809.

Food

1. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both conference days (21 and 22 February 2025).

2. Conference dinner is on 21 February 2025.

3. You can have breakfast at the university cafeteria after paying for the meal/beverage of your choice. Our cafeteria only accepts online payment.

4. The breakfast time at the university cafeteria is 7:30 to 10:00 am.

4. The people staying at the off-campus hostel can have their breakfast there, or can have it after reaching the campus. The breakfast at the hostel starts at 7 am.

5. Please take note that the sessions start at 9 am on both days.

6. You can have dinner at the university cafeteria (except on 21st) after paying for the meal/beverage of your choice. The cafeteria serves dinner from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

7. No food delivery app serves our campus.

Registration

The forum is open to a diverse body of academics, researchers, students (PhD and above), and practitioners from India. To join the meeting, please submit an abstract of your work.

1. The abstract should respond to the meeting themes.

2. Abstracts related to works on less-studied species (fungi, microbes, and marine organisms) and ecosystems are welcome and encouraged.

3. Word limit: 300 words

4. The abstract must be submitted through the abstract submission form by 24 December 2024.

5. Please follow the guidelines mentioned in the submission form.

6. Do not send your abstract through email. Please use the abstract submission form.

7. Notification of acceptance/rejection for abstracts will be sent no later than 6 January 2025.

8. There is no registration fee to join the meeting.

Transportation

1. Local transportation, such as cabs and autos, is readily available from the city to the campus. However, return transportation from the campus to the city is limited, especially in the evening.

2. The participants staying at the off-campus hostel can avail the shuttle facility. We will share the shuttle timings in this space.

3. We will also share the contact details of local cab drivers during the conference. The participants can contact them to arrange their transport from the university campus to the city/hostel/railway station/airport.
