Heart of India
A state full of fascinating legends, Madhya Pradesh is a monument to the diversity of India's landscapes and the depth of its cultural legacy. As living reminders of its historical significance, the state is home to three UNESCO World Heritage sites. The ancient artistry conserved in the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, the ethereal temples of Khajuraho, and the hallowed aura of Sanchi Stupa all come together to narrate tales of a past period, each leaving its own mark on the tapestry of time.
A tale of two worlds
Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, offers you a lovely fusion of ancient legacy and modern charm by skillfully fusing tradition and modernity. The old city is located north of the tranquil lakes. There, you may wander the winding streets, witness intriguing mosques, and explore the lively markets brimming with regional specialties and quaint food stalls. As you cross the Upper Lake, Bhopal is transformed into a modern metropolis with slick, broad avenues, glittering malls, and opulent lodging and dining options.
And a young university
Azim Premji University was founded in 2010 in Bangalore, with the vision to contribute to the realization of a just, equitable, humane, and sustainable society. Our new campus in Bhopal reflects our vision to embody openness, foster a spirit of care, an exemplary learning environment, and a vibrant campus life. The local architecture of Madhya Pradesh influences the design of our campus, borrowing design elements from Sanchi, Mandu, and other historical sites of the state.
